We have been derelict on our updates and we apologize for that. No excuses!
We are getting ready for a great 2014 season.
Our shows have begun and looking forward to seeing everyone there. Please stop by and say hi. We love talking fishing!!
Next show is in Worcester, MA. Check our upcoming show page for more information about this show as well as other upcoming shows.

February 13, 2013
What a weekend for my second show of the year. Arrived in Worcester on a warm and sunny Thursday morning and seventy two hours later returned to the truck to remove 30 inches of snow around the vehicle. I would like to thank the few people that did show up at the show knowing it was not easy for them to get there. Hats off to Dan Kelly for holding the show together knowing it was his first sportsman show, he and his crew did a great job. Hope he is willing to try it again next year. Heading for the Big E show this coming Wednesday. Show will run from Thursday noon until Sunday evening. With the past weekends weather this should push many more people to this venue. My suggestion is to come early or later in the day. We are offering a show special and new handouts will be available at the show. Hope to see you at the show. Jim

January 31, 2013
Here we are the first day of February and winter has returned after setting a record high of 65 yesterday. Had an excellent report from the Oswego river yesterday from a river guide. His clients landed 60 plus fish, mostly browns. A real good sign. But that was yesterday. The river will be at a super high and dangerous stage for the next several days. I will be at DCU center in Worcester, MA on February 8-10, booth numbers 818 and 819. Hope to see you there. Jim

January 15, 2013
Hard to believe we are in mid January already with 60 degree days and no snow on the ground. Headed to my first show this weekend in Burlington, VT. It looks like the weather should be perfect for it. Show will start around 1:00 on Friday, going to 5:00pm on Sunday. All conditions on river fishing have been excellent and I'm looking forward to another very good season. Hoping for more snow or at least a rainy spring as we definitely need water. I will try to put up more 2012 pictures when I get back from the show. Those of you wishing to book this year and need certain dates, please get to me ASAP so that we can get you in the books. I have 7 more shows coming up shortly. Hope to see you at the shows. Jim

Happy holidays! The 2012 salmon season aboard the Hattrick was one of the best in recent memories. It started in early April with all the brown trout that we could catch. Then in early May the great fishing switched over to salmon, steelheads and lake trout as well as all the brown trout when we wanted them. Those of you that were fortunate to fish these early salmon trips witnessed the best early salmon season I have ever fished. We are currently doing a little face lift on the Hattrick, replacing seats, new floor, ect. Looking forward to getting the boat back in the water. We are running a Christmas special from now till January 15th. Anyone placing deposits for bookings for the upcoming 2013 season before the January 15th will lock in the 2012 prices. Also please check our 2013 show schedule as we will be updating them soon. To make sure you get the dates you want for next season, please book before the shows! Our calendar fills up fast during the shows. Hope to see you at the shows and on the water. Jim

For the past 2 weeks I have let some of the photographs tell the story of what is happening off the Port of Oswego. With nearly limit catches every trip with a combination of kings and Cohoes, the Hattrick has had a great August and a good start to September. Fish have been ranging from 10 to 30 lbs. With a lack of rain (and not much in the foreseeable future/forecast), these fish should stay within several miles of our home port. There has been many happy faces and heavy coolers since our last report. It's great to see that the average sportsman/fisherman are doing nearly the same, and sometimes better. Please check out our homepage as we still have a few days that are open. Also we are offering our evening special on several other dates but a call or a e-mail is necessary to review these. Hope to see you on the water Jim.

Aug 23, 2012
Aug 23 Here we are in the final week of August and just as I was hoping for, the adult salmon have arrived in very good numbers. From just west of Oswego all the way to catfish creek, we have been fishing in waters from 95 to 300 feet with a combination of flies , spoons, and meat. The main colors in the morning or late evening will be the greens and whites and silvers as the light gets higher. The Hattrick has boated lakers, browns, cohoes, and king salmon in very respectful numbers since the last report. The cohoes look to be in excellent condition ranging anywhere from 10 to 17 lbs. and the adult salmon/kings appear to range from 15 to 30 lbs. With no rain in sight and our westerly winds fishing should only improve daily (or at least continue the same). It's nice to see the pull behinds are taking good number of fish also . Channel 5 on our marine band radio is where you can find the Oswego fleet. Please check out our home page as there are still a few dates available. I believe the fishing off the Oswego harbor should be possible all the way in to October unless we get any large tropical storms, ect. Hope to see you on the water. Jim

Aug 13, 2012

Here it is the third week of August already! Fishing the past two days has been excellent. But first I have to make an apology to my team members on a local tournament that we fished a couple of weeks ago. After boating an exceptional catch of king salmon and beating 93 of the 94 boat entries, I forgot to take the water out of our cooler (may have been a senior moment) and had this exceptional catch disqualified. I apologize to my crew: Kevin, Jay Sweeney and son. I would like to also apologize to the officials who had done an excellent job at the derby (Beth, Mike, Bob, and the rest of their crew).
With that being said, the fishing the last several days for king salmon and kohoes has been outstanding. Battling three to sometimes six foot waves we manage to catch our average of kings every trip while losing many many others due to water conditions. The fish appear to be staging off the Oswego River in 90 to 100 feet of water just off the bottom. I have seen fish on our dock ranging up to 37 pounds. The fishing should only get better each day. Please check out our home page for the remaining dates to our season. Hope to see you on the water . Jim

Holy Cow it's been a while since I have updated this site, and I can't find a good reason why, so here it goes. Since our last report the salmon have left our area, returned, left again for a few days and now are back bigger and meaner than ever. Those of you that have fished with us during the absence of the salmon were rewarded with some of the biggest and largest numbers of brown trout we have taken in many years, the largest being nearly a 19 lb. gorgeous male with a large hook jaw. The largest salmon to date has tipped our scales at 33 lbs. 8oz. The average adult salmon is averaging between 25 and 28 lbs. With another month in their growing season I would hope to see several more pounds being added to these numbers. With no rain fall in nearly two months and all the streams and rivers near record lows, these salmon should stage out front for the duration of my fishing season(which will be the end of September). Please check out the home page as we unfortunately have open dates still available. Please e-mail or call us should you need any of our services. Hope to see you on the water. Jim

More good fishing by the gang from Massachusetts!

June 11, 2012
I've been putting off this report for a couple of weeks now because the lake has been turning over. Great fishing one day, not so great the next. But starting last Thursday, June 7th, the kings and steelheads have come back in large numbers. We are catching king salmon ranging from 3 to 22 lbs, steelheads from 3 to 12, and various sizes of lake trout. Barring any major weather changes our salmon fishing should continue to the end of the season. Been fishing the moon eyes for bait and have never seen any of the size that the adults are now. Many have reached the size of 8 inches or more and are looking mighty healthy. Please check out the homepage as there are many great dates still open. A phone call or an e-mail and I will take care of all the arrangements for you. Hope to see you on the water. Jim

16.5 pounds!! What else is there to say!!

May 11, 2012

I know it's hard to believe but the fishing off the Port of Oswego is improving every day. Limit catches of king salmon ranging from 5 to 25 lbs. have been taken aboard the Hattrick every day this week. Also mixed in are brown trout and some very nice lake trout. Average travel time from the lighthouse to the fish is less than 5 minutes. I have fished in anywhere from 50 to 300 feet of water which is approximately 3 miles in a straight line and we have taken fish all the way. Magnum glow spoons in the early light and green and shartrueses with green and silver back after the light gets up have done the trick. I have only run a couple flies in dodger combinations and they also worked. Wire dipsies, led cores, and copper lines are producing nicely. Please check out the home page, as we have another special running next month. Please don't hesitate to call or e-mail us at any time as the open dates are changing daily. Hope to see you on the water, Jim.

Just when you thought fishing could not get any better, it now has. Whether fishing for trout or salmon large numbers of either species can be taken. Brown trout are ranging from 3 to 15 lbs. While salmon are ranging from 3 to 26 lbs. Now for the first time since the late 80's and early 90's we are offering evening fishing trips in the month of April. Normally we do not start fishing the afternoon trips till May, but the fishing is so excellent, we are now offering them from the 18th of April on. The Hattrick hit the water at about noon today, April 17th. And the old saying goes; the word boat stands for (B.O.A.T.) break out another thousand. With a few minor repairs we should be good to go tomorrow afternoon. Please check out our home page for the opening dates in the upcoming fishing season. And if you can use any of them, please get back to us ASAP. See you on the water. Jim

April 12, 2012
Just as we predicted, the brown trout fishing is excellent. Even though we have low water the West and North winds have helped us tremendously. Limit catches on boats are reported daily, and many more on a catch and release trip. Today alone, out of the harbor of Oswego (my home port) fish were taken from 3 to 21 lbs. And a dozen or more Kings were among them. With the upcoming predictions of several days of rain, this fishing will only get better or at least continue to be good as it is now. Please check out the home page for we have just had some dates opened up. If interested, please get back ASAP. We will be posting more pictures next week. Good fishing to all. Jim

May 1, 2012
I have been fishing out of the Port of Oswego for over 22 years and this has been the best fishing I have ever seen by far. It's not whether we can catch a king; it's how many would you like to catch. We have been finishing early each day this week with limit catches of salmon and browns & we've had a lot of happy clients. Several of our new groups have been definitely spoiled! The mornings and afternoon fishing have been producing the same numbers of fish. The brown trout brought aboard the Hattrick have been ranging between 3 and 15 lbs & our king salmon have been between 7 and 22 lbs with about a 16 lb. average. If anyone is interested in the best salmon season that I have ever witnessed, please contact me ASAP either by phone or e-mail. It's hard to believe but I do have 2 weekends open in the month of May. The 10 day forecast looks great and great fishing should continue as far as I can see in to the future. Please check out our website as we will be posting new photographs. Hope to see you on the water. Jim

April 22, 2012

The rumors about limit catches of both browns and kings in front of our harbor (Oswego, NY) are true!!! The Hattrick, after fishing five charters, have limited out five out of five on both species. I believe if we were fishing just salmon, 4 man limits would be very possible. The salmon are ranging from 5 to 25 lbs with around 12 being the average. As of today, April 22, we are experiencing gale force winds from north/northeast. When the storm finally passes fishing should be unbelievable because this packs all the temperature and fish tight to the shoreline. Please go to the home page to check our new specials. Due to recent cancellations, we are now offering specials on certain dates. Please call or e-mail me ASAP if you need any information on charters. Hope to see you on the water, Jim

March 19
The pictures are two from the river & two from the lake. It feels more like the end of May or early June in Upstate NY. Our steelheads have spawned and are returning to the lake already. The Oswego River is 48+ degrees, hard to believe! There are already great catches of brown trout off our river and some of the streams to the east. The largest one I have heard of so far is 14 plus pounds. This is approximately 5 weeks too early for all of this to happen. But it is mid March and we still can get plenty of bad weather. With no snow, and lack of a runoff, we will need our spring rains. Fish that I have seen come out of the Lake look excellent, and it sure looks like we are going to have a great spring. We will be traveling to Augusta on the 30th of this month to do the SAM show. The dates are March 30, 31, & April 1. Hope to see you all there. Jim

Winter has returned and the fishing contributories have slowed down a little. But watch what happens when we get a few days of good weather, higher temperatures with rain, it will be fantastic. We will be at the Orono Sportsman Show- PCCA Show, this week, March 9, 10, 11th. Hope to see you there. Jim

March 1, 2012
Here we are on March 1st & still no snow, not to mentions very little ice on the inland ponds. Fishing in the rivers remains very good with lots of smaller steelheads and browns being taken. Reliable sources have told us the boys with the car toppers are reporting very good numbers of spring browns being taken from the rivers and in front of the small creeks as well as in the big pond. The Hattrick is getting some needed repairs and is scheduled to go in the water around the 10th of April. With a few shake down cruises we will be able to start the 2012 fishing season around the 18th of April. The PCCA show will be held at the University of Maine in Orono on March 9, 10 & 11. The early spring dates and July thru September booking up fast it may be better to try to book before the shows to make sure you get the dates you want. Hope to see you at the show. Jim

Just finished the second show of the season and there appears to be a little more interest in the brown trout and the salmon season this year. The reports from the river this week remain very good, with good numbers of browns and steelheads. There have been limited reports of small boats in the big pond, boating very respectable numbers of browns and a few small salmon. There's been a major cancellation in April during the spring recess period. If any is interested please call or e-mail immediately. Hope to see you at the Big E - in Springfield on Feb. 23-26. Tight lines, Jim

February 1, 2012
Wow can you believe it is ground hog day eve, and there’s no snow in Oswego NY. Temp reached 50 degrees today. The Oswego River is near flood stage making fishing a real challenge at this point. Reports from river guides previous to this had excellent catches of steelheads and browns. We had just gotten a little bit of safe ice for our ice fishing friends and good catches of perch and walleyes have been reported. Our kids fishing derby in Sandy Pond was just cancelled this morning, best to stay off the ice. It’s looking like a great brown trout season due to the number of browns that have already been taken. I’m really excited for this upcoming salmon season. Those of you that fished with us last season and caught a record number of two year old fish will be pleased to know we should have a banner year this year on three year olds. I believe their weight should be a few extra pounds due to three months of extended growing time. The lake remained in the mid to upper 40's well in to December. We will be at the Worcester show February 10, 11, and 12 and the Big E in Springfield Mass. Feb.. 23-26. Hope to see you there! Jim

January 1, 2012
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all! It's hard to believe its January and there's no snow on the ground. I'm sure we will pay for this down the line (at least I hope so). We will need the spring runoff for our brown trout fishery. Lake Ontario is still very warm with temperatures in the mid 40's. This has added at least 3 more months of growing time to our fish. Large numbers of bait fish were netted off the research vessels and they look great. With a little slower salmon season at the end of the last season I was little worried about their numbers but the river guides reported as many salmon as they have ever seen. To my knowledge the hatchery had all their quota of eggs. It should be a good year for browns and steelheads. Kevin has been catching large numbers of them each day (he releases all of them). Please check out the 2012 show dates as some of them have been changed from previous years. In the past several weeks an encouraging amount of inquiries and bookings have occurred. We are hoping for another good season. If you are looking for any special dates, especially weekends, please get back to us ASAP. Hope to see you at the shows, Jim

Fishing has been great!!
Make your reservation today to get in on the action!!!

August 22, 2011
Here we are in the third week of August. The fishing off my home Port of Oswego remains very, very good. Kings ranging from 3 to 35 lbs, Cohoes to 17 lbs, rainbows and browns up to 20 lbs. Several lake trout in the 20 lb range were also caught this week. With a record number of 1 year old king salmon caught by the Hattrick this year, I am predicting and unbelievable catch of 2 year old salmon for 2012. As it looks as of today, the adult king salmon are just starting to stage off the Oswego River. With the exception of some seriously bad weather/winds, salmon season should remain excellent till later in September off our river. Please check out the home page for any open dates. Hope to see you on the lake. Jim

Dood fish keep on coming!
Make your reservation today!!!

August 2, 2011
Wow!! Here we are the 2nd day of August and the fishing still remains very good. We are getting a few less kings but the size has increased. The brown trout fishing still remains good but should come to a stop shortly. The past couple of weeks we had to fish 3 to 6 miles from the port which indicates a normal July and early August fishery. If everything goes as schedule, the adult salmon should start staging a 100 to 150 feet off our river in dept. The way this season is going, with the lack of rain, salmon fishing should go all the way in to October unless there is an unusual amount of rain which will encourage them to go up the river. Looks like September fishing for the adult kings will be like the old days. Don't be afraid to book all the way to the end of September. Please check out our open dates on the homepage. Hope to see you on the water, Jim

Salmon have arrived!
No need to say anything.
Just look at our latest picture of a 27 pound salmon caught today!!!

July 4, 2011
Salmon have arrived!THEY'RE HERE, THEY'RE HERE!!! The large salmon are finally here! The Hattrick was able to capture many large salmon over the weekend. They ranged from 3 to 26 lbs. They were mixed in with Steelheads, Rainbows, Lakers, and Browns. We were not the exception; many professional & private boats did the same. We fished the whole weekend within two miles of the lighthouse in Oswego. With an old fashioned winter & spring under our belt, the Salmon were right on schedule, just before the fourth of July. Guess we got spoiled the past several years due to their early arrival. We were fishing east or west in depths from 125 to 400 feet of water. We were fishing roughly in 75 to 125 feet down with spoons and flies. By the looks of the large numbers of 1 and 2 year old fish mixed in the next several years the fishing look great. There are still many good dates available. Please check out the homepage, and please don't hesitate to call or e-mail. Hope to have another great report for you soon. Jim

June 28, 2011
Can you believe it it's Fourth of July weekend already! The weather and the fishing remain excellent. Catching a few less brown trout but the size is definitely getting bigger. We are now averaging around 7 lbs on the browns with 15 lbs being the largest this year. Have been catching a good number of Skippy kings and we finally landed a king over 16 lbs. There is still tons of bait in the shallower water. Once they move out to a 100/300 foot level I believe the salmon will be there. The HATTRICK fished in a local derby this weekend with a four man team including our guest Jay Sweeney and son. We were able to defeat sixty two out of the sixty nine boats that entered. We decided to go for the win after boating several large browns hoping to catch a couple of adult salmon. Wrong move... After four hours of fishing salmon we landed one lake trout and one short steelhead. In hindsight, which is always perfect, we should have stayed on the browns. Promoters of the tournament did an excellent job and hats off to Tommy Germain and the Chef that prepared an excellent meal. With two more local derbies coming up we hope to do as well in them. It's hard to believe that the Fourth of July weekend is still open. If anyone can use it please e-mail me or call me as soon as possible. Tight lines, Jim

June 22, 2011
Well the beginning of the week has turned out fantastic! We have had limit catches of browns ranging from 3 lbs to 14 lbs mixed in with some skippy kings & unfortunately short rainbows. The highlight of the week so far has been a 13 1/2 pound Atlantic salmon. I personally have not fished for strictly salmon, but I will by the end of the week. Reliable reports from people fishing salmon are very encouraging. They are reporting lots of 1 1/2 year old fish and a good number of teenagers & a few adult salmon. There are plenty of bait fish and as soon as we lose our northeast winds I believe the salmon fishing will pick up in a hurry. Please check out the home page for open dates. IF none of these will work for you please give us a call or an e-mail and we might be able to switch a few dates around. Please don't wait until the last minute though. Hope to see you on the water. Jim.

June 19, 2011
Holy cow, here we are nearing the third week of June and the fishing is right on schedule. We have been able to capture many large brown trout mixed in surprisingly with some half way decent lake trout and many small shaker kings. Surprisingly, all these fish were taken between the 40 and 80 foot depths fishing down approximately half way. Mostly Michigan stingers on lead core stackers cheaters and some copper. Some teenagers and a few adult salmon were also taken within the 80 to 130 foot range fishing down approximately half way. It is starting to look like a good start to our cold water fishery. If things continue on schedule, our teenagers and adults should be here this week or early next week. Bait fish are scattered from Nine Mile Point to the east and I have reports of Port Bay to the west. With this amount of bait our silver sided devils will be arriving soon. There are still some very good dates open. Please check the home page for the dates. I will try to update the website biweekly to let you know of the arrival of the salmon. Hope to see you on the water. Jim

June 12, 2011
With two full weeks of June in the books our fishing still remains excellent. A few less fish per outing but the size of the fish were considerable larger this week. The average brown trout was seven pounds and we have many more fish in the mid & low teens with 15 pounds being the largest. After capturing our browns on several trips we ventured out to the deeper water 80 to 125 feet and were able to get a few immature salmon. Reports from 2 reliable boats that are fishing salmon at first light are picking up a few teenagers and a couple of adults each trip. Looks like a good start with warm water to the cold water fishery. Barring any severe weather fishing should remain the same for several more weeks. The small private boaters had an excellent week which indicates that there is still a large population of fish off the Oswego River. Please check out the open dates and let us know via e-mail or the 800 number if we can be of any assistance. Hope to see you on the water. Jim

June 5, 2011
Another successful week is in the books, it's hard to believe it's the first week of June. Saying the brown trout fishing remains excellent is an understatement. With all trips well exceeding their legal limits, it's hard to believe but it will get better. We had many three year old fish ranging from 8 to 14 pounds this week with a 14 plus being the biggest. Bait fish are staging between 30 and 60 feet of water and the brown trout have found them. Salmon are being taken out in front of the Oswego River in the 80 to 100 foot range. Sizes are ranging from 5 pounds to a 25 plus pounds, average being in the mid teens. Also mixed in have been a few steelheads and lake trout. IF we continue to get our west and southwest winds the lake should set up nicely. The western end of the lake had a professional tournament this weekend with literally tons of salmon taken. Hope they leave us a few for the summer and fall runs! There are still some choices dates open. They are listed on our home page or please e-mail or call the 1 800 number for the latest updates. The dates change daily See you on the water!

May 30, 2011
Can you believe it another major holiday has come and gone? Here we are within a day or two of June 1st. Five months has gone by since the year began, hard to believe. What is not hard to believe is the fishing out of the Port of Oswego remains excellent with limits plus of browns ranging from 3 to 14 pounds again this week. We had an added bonus of rainbows and small steelheads plus a 13 plus pound Atlantic salmon. What a beautiful fish. Also it has been reported some lake trout ranging from 3 to 5 pounds are being taken out in the deeper water. The lake water remains very cold and with the Oswego running at a very high flow our fishing should remain excellent for several more weeks for brown trout. If history holds true we should be getting some kings in a very short period of time. Please check out the open dates. Hope to see you on the water.

May 27, 2011
Great news from the Hattrick, our plans for building an arc has come in and we plan on working on it every evening after our trips. We are now taking reservations to fill it as I feel it is never going to stop raining this season! Now for a more serious note, with the exception of two slow weekends, due to weather, the fishing remains very good. Browns ranging from 3 to 14 pounds were boated, along with some small steelheads. We are still fishing in 3 to 15 feet of water just east or west of the harbor. With another week of east to northeast winds and continuous rain our fishing should remain the same and only getting better as far I can see in to the future. Congratulations to the team TK they just added a third generation to their crew. Mother and baby are doing well. We are worried about the new father. Rumor has it he is the only one that hasn't been sleeping. There have been rumors of a couple of boats going straight out of the harbor and catching some two year old salmon. Fish ranging from 5 to 15 pounds have been reported. Hope to see you on the water. Jim

May 16, 2011
Here we are with four weeks of excellent fishing in the books with record catches of 2 and 3 year old browns on board the Hattrick. Fish (brown trout) ranging from 3 to 14 1/2 pounds was boated this week along with some very nice domestic rainbows and a few small Cohoes salmon. Another captain boated a 20 lb 9oz brown, one beautiful fish. The beginning of the week started with light winds and very sunny skies and unbelievable fishing. Mid-week northeast winds, sunny skies, fishing remain the same. Then came the weekend with very high winds, waves and rain. Near record high waters in all streams and rivers. Fishing started to decrease Sunday morning and was unable to fish on Monday. Winds will be turning around and coming from the south and our fishing will pick up again starting Tuesday. Fishing for these browns and some rainbows should remain for at least several weeks if not more. The alewives/baitfish, are coming in strong and the browns are here in great numbers. Both AM and PM trips have been exceptional. Please check out open dates on homepage. Hope to see you on the water. Jim

Another weekend of fishing for the Hattrick is in the books and our success remained the same except for one very sunny, flat afternoon when we did not exceed our limit. We did make up for it the next day three fold. The bright sun and clear water made it a difficult afternoon for fishing. Since then, with a north wind and exceptional high water from the Oswego River, our catches of brown trout ranging from 3 to 12 l/2 pounds continued with many trips getting the 20 plus mark. With the upcoming forecast calling for east and northeast winds along with rain for the weekend fishing should and will remain excellent. A few small kings ranging from 3 to 20 lbs have been taken off the river but not on my boat. Please check out the home page for the open dates have changed. Hope to see you on the water. Jim

We could not have gotten off to a better start to the 2011 spring fishery. The Hattrick was able to produce well in excess of limit catches every trip with sizes ranging to 3 to 13 pounds. Several different species of fish were taken and all looked to be in very good shape. The Oswego River just set an all time record high and we had to move out of the harbor and fish the shore lines east and west. The word must have gotten out about our fishery as there were numerous car toppers and tow behinds this weekend. There were a lot of long lines at our cleaning station and a lot of happy faces. With more rain predicted in the near future our fishery will continue. Bait fish are just arriving and they look in great shape. Another real good sign! The Salmon River is producing double digit days for those captains in the know. Please check our home page for our open dates and pray that our gas prices go down. See you on the water.

With another successful weekend in the books for the Hattrick our success rate still remains excellent. Browns ranging from 3 to 11 pounds were boated this weekend consisting of Salmon, Cohoes and a few Rainbows. All our tributaries remain near flood stage and we are expecting nearly 3 more inches of rain for the following week. The untold story which no one else is telling you about is that it has been good for all of us. Not only are the charter captains doing excellent, but the tow behinds and car toppers are doing equally as well. There has been very little fishing pressure this week but those of us that got out have experienced some fantastic spring fishing. With the lack of bait (alewives) the fish are very eager to take our lures. Fishing should continue excellent for many more weeks. Please check out our open dates on our home page. Hope to see you on the water.

What a start to the 2011 brown trout season!! After fishing for one solid week we are averaging 25 plus fish per trip. The fish are consisting of about 80% brown trout and the rest small salmon and rainbows & a handful of lake trout. The average depth of our fishery is within 10 feet of water. The fish range from 3 to 12 lbs. The PM trips are averaging around the same numbers of fish. With the extreme weather that we have had this week I can't imagine what the numbers will be when the weather straightens around. Will be updating the open dates ASAP. Hope to see you on the water. Jim

With the exception of the weather, it was one heck of a great start. First two trips of the year were able to boat nearly 40 fish ranging from 3 to 14 pounds with the majority of them being mostly browns and a mixture of rainbows, steelhead, small kings, and several large lake trout. Conditions were poor at best but the fish didn't seem to care. We're very happy with the size and numbers of fish caught. If this is any indication of what the rest of the year is going to be we should have an exceptional year. We just had a major weekend open up in May. Please e-mail or call if you are interested in booking. See you on the water. Jim

The first two weeks of April finds the fishing for spring browns, atlantics and some rainbows very active off the Oswego River and nearby streams with good numbers and fish reportedly ranging from 3 pounds to 15 pounds. The tributaries remain good fishing even with extremely low water for this time of year. With our annual spring rains fishing should only get better as time goes on. On another note the turkeys are getting very active here. Been seeing large numbers of them in many places. Hope to get out a few mornings myself. Please check out the home page for some spring open dates. Will be posting summer and fall dates shortly. Hope to see you on the water.

From some reliable sources the spring brown trout season is getting off to a great start. Fish in large numbers and browns up to 12 1/2 pounds are being reported. Mix in some steelhead, rainbows, and Atlantic salmon I am really excited about this spring's fishery. The Oswego River is just below flood stage and it is looking like every bait fish in the lake is headed toward us. This should only produce some fantastic early spring fishing. Let's all say a small prayer for some normal spring rains. We've lost our snow and ice melt and with temperatures predicting to be above normal for the next 10 days we will need the rain. Hattrick will be the water April 12 and we will start our first trip on the 15th. Many thanks to all you people for putting up with my selling points at all the shows. My competition was extremely tough this year and I hope I answered all your questions. Hope to see you on the water.

Wow what a crappy spring this is turning out to be. Temperatures colder now then it was in February. The 10 day forecast is calling for below normal temperatures and little precipitation. The reports from the rivers vary. Due to a large runoff in most of the rivers and streams the fishing has slowed down. These cool temperatures should drop water levels and the catch should pick up. As of this time I know of no one fishing the lake. It should be a good year for brown trout as the reports have come in off the river of 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 year old fish. Steelhead fishing will only get better as the water warms. We will be going to the Sam Sportsman show in Augusta, Maine, April 1, 2, and 3. Hope to see you there! Good fishing.

An old fashion winter and extremely cold temperatures predicted in the next 30 days should lead to a very good spring fishery. The big pond is extremely cold and should take awhile to warm up. Brown trout and steelheads along with some salmon fishing should start in mid April, continuing all the way in to late June unless we have an extremely warm spring. Reports from a few reliable fishing sources indicate good numbers of both steelhead and brown trout being taken. (Both numbers and size) Our offshore thermalbar fishing should begin in either late May or early June and continue for several good weeks, something we haven't had in several years. We are looking forward to another good salmon season after a very poor September 2010. The turning over of the lake and with the 70 degree water, down below 150 feet I believe just plainly shut the fish off. Large numbers of salmon in many of the rivers and streams in October may verify my theory. There was no lack of numbers. Looking forward to an old fashion spring and some fantastic brown trout fishing. We will be updating the site with open dates right after the Springfield show. Hope to see you on the water. Jim
